| Rim Country Touring |
Our Tours!
We aren't set-up yet to tell you exactly what tours we are going to
do, and when we are going to do them, but rest assured we will be
working hard to get our tours up and running for 2010.
What we can tell you is what our intentions are and what we'd like
to do with Rim Country Touring. To start, we bought a new
commercial van in September of 2009. We got the van lettered up
with our company logos, and it's just about ready to roll as our first
tour vehicle. We will install a couple of bike racks and kayak racks
this winter to get it ready to take you out on tour.
Our first tour offerings will likely be half-day and one-day tours to
explore Arizona's Mogollon Rim. We plan to offer all-inclusive
tours to take you hiking, biking, kayaking, and/or trail running on
some great trail systems near some awesome lakes and
streams, all above 7,000 feet in elevation. We will outfit our van
with rental bikes, rental kayaks, all the appropriate gear, plus
plenty of snacks and drinks. We will meet at a desginated spot in
Payson (hopefully our town's new coffee shop and ice cream
store), load you up, and take you out to our Forest Service
approved base camp on the Rim. We'll set-up a quick camp,
unload the bikes and boats, give you a few pointers and some
local knowledge, then send you on your merry way to explore the
waterways and singletrack the area offers. Once you've worn
yourself out, we'll take a little time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the
beauty of the area. These won't be guided tours. You'll be out on
the lake and on the trails on your own. We'll just provide the
means for you to access these wonderful areas Arizona's Rim
Country has to offer.
On top of our array of half-day and one-day tours, we plan to offer
fully supported multi-day backpacking, road cycling, and mountain
bike tours. Pretty soon we'll have some 2 and 3 day trips planned
for 2010, and if all goes well, we will branch out into 5-7-10 day
trips too. Many of our multi-day trips will be multi-sport too. We
might offer a 5-day all-inclusive tour that will offer you an overnight
2-day backpacking trip to some remote desert southwest canyon,
followed up by 2-days of riding some awesome singletrack,
followed by a day of rafting or kayaking on some beautiful
waterway.
Our heads are full of ideas on all the tours we want to offer you. In
due time we'll make them a reality. The bottom line is quality.
Quality gear, quality trips, quality trails, quality guides, and a quality
tour company at an affordable price!
